TIghten & Tone

If you've ever stopped writing mid-essay and thought, Where am I going with this? What am I really trying to say?  this is for you.

Every essay has one sentence that makes or breaks it - and it's called a thesis statement. You might think a thesis is just a sentence that "sums" up your argument, but it's a lot more than that.

Your thesis statement is the one sentence in your entire essay that gives every other sentence a purpose.

When your thesis is off, or when it's not clearly articulated, you end up saying things like, "Should I include this piece of info or not?" and, "Where am I going with this? What am I really trying to say?"
